The American multinational technology conglomerate Cisco Systems, Inc. has opened an innovation center in central Istanbul, Turkey in a bid to develop solutions for the digital era and the center is located in Istanbul Technical University’s (İTÜ) Arı Teknokent, a leading Turkish technology park affiliated with the university. It includes solution demonstration areas, research labs, flexible collaboration spaces, and software and hardware development spaces, where new ideas and concepts can be co-created and tested.
Turkish business startups like Reengen, Blesh, and Borda Technology demonstrated a series of projects on which they are collaborating in the center during the opening ceremony. The solutions that they showcased in the ceremony included real-time location-based tracking and asset management, proximity marketing applications, business and data analytics, and industrial IoT, according to the company statement. Moreover the Cisco Istanbul Innovation Center would focus on innovations in country digitization and IoT solutions for logistics, transportation and manufacturing.
“The future of any digital economy hinges on its ability to innovate. Strengthening that ability requires a collaborative effort that encourages fresh perspectives, fosters creativity, and facilitates access to tools and resources that bring it to life,” says Cisco Turkey General Manager Cenk Kıvılcım.
Furthermore, the opening of the Cisco Innovation Center in Istanbul is a seminal moment for Turkey’s fast-evolving innovation landscape. As it would offer an open environment to create solutions that address real-world business and operations challenges.
