Suzuki Motor is all set to build the new EV battery plant in India

Suzuki Motor to build a brand new factory in to make EV batteries worth $1.26 billion in India exclusively

Suzuki Motor, in a recent announcement, has stated that it is gearing up to build a brand new factory in to make EV batteries in India exclusively. The company aims to finish the work and have the plant up and running by 2026. According to recent reports, it is said that the Japanese automaker has invested a whopping amount of 150 billion yen ($1.26 billion) on the new plant.

Along with this, Suzuki Motors is also planning to increase the production of electric vehicles in India. The company hopes to expand EV sales in the country as the Indian government is promoting electric cars as part of its most significant decarbonization effort. It is said that the new plant will be set up near an existing Suzuki auto factory in the western state of Gujarat.

Suzuki hopes to launch the all-new affordable EV models in Japan and India at the beginning of 2025. The Japanese automaker hopes to capitalize on an expected wave of automobile electrification. With the addition of a new EV battery plant, Suzuki is once again aiming to gain an edge in India's EV market.
