Facebook Launches the ‘India Innovation Accelerator’ In Order to Mentor Start-Ups

The giant in the social networking vertical has now launched a new programme called the “India Innovation Accelerator,” which is mainly initiated to focus on start-ups. The vertical in which it mainly intends to target is the Artificial Intelligence for social good. For that Facebook is said to mentor and support promising start-ups that are leveraging AI to address the high gaps within the social impacted areas.

"We are an ally for India's economic growth and social development and this summit is our effort to understand how we can contribute to the development of deep tech in India, as well as corral resources to use these technologies to develop impactful solutions for tough and persistent problems," says the vice president and managing director of Facebook India - Ajit Mohan. Furthermore, Facebook has also launched a hundred scholarships for students and developers who are focusing on nurturing ideas for the utilization of AI. This scholarship is initiated to support students in gaining knowledge and advance towards better learning. Not to mention, Facebook has also launched “Women in AI Hackathons” to mainly focus on women developers, encourage them within the ecosystem and furthermore develop better start-ups that can focus on AI.
