AWS Recently Made Amazon Lex Chatbot Integration Available in the Asia Pacific Region

Amazon Web Services (AWS) recently made Amazon Lex chatbot integration available in the Asia Pacific (Sydney) AWS area under Amazon Connect. Amazon describes the Amazon Lex functionality as turning "your Amazon Connect contact flows into natural conversations," making it possible to automate a high volume of interactions without "compromising customer experience." chatbots from amazon Lex assists the users in changing the passwords and schedule the appointments by vocalizing a prompt than stressing the list of options.

The technology also uses the same automatic speech recognition technology as Alexa's virtual assistant, and understanding natural language. Meanwhile, Amazon Connect is a self-service cloud contact center service that includes telephone, web, talk, email, texting, social media, emails, faxes, and snail mail requests.

Customers will not incur additional Amazon Connect fees for using Amazon Lex chatbots, but will be charged $0.004 per voice request and $0.00075 per text request for Amazon Lex usage. This update follows the availability of cross-region support from Amazon Connect and Lex in July 2018, where users from Sydney region could use an Amazon Lex chatbot created in a different region. This is the third area requiring chatbot connectivity for both Amazon Connect and Amazon Lex, followed by US East (N.Virginia) and US West (Oregon).
