Singapore-based BandLab Raises $53M in Series B

Singapore-based BandLab Raises $53M in Series B

The round was led by Vulcan Capital

Singapore-based social music platform BandLab raised $53 million in its first round funding. The round of funding was led by Vulcan Capital with participation from K3 Ventures as well as existing investor Caldecott Music Group.

The company will use the funding to expand its team. The funding will allow the company to grow its offerings to music creators and aspiring artists all over the world. BandLab's post-money valuation is $303 million after this round of funding.

“Our vision is a future where there are no barriers to making and sharing music, in particular among independent musicians and creators, and among mobile-first users, the billions with smartphones and original musical ideas,” says BandLab CEO & Co-Founder Meng Ru Kuok. “We’re not only doubling down on our market leading creator tools, but also prioritizing compensation for artists and protection for rights holders. If creators aren’t being paid fairly, it’s a major barrier to their development and growth as artists.”

BandLab was founded in 2015 to help bring down the technical, geographic, and creative barriers for musicians and fans. The BandLab platform unifies the entire creator journey in one place.
