Over China’s Covid Lockdown the shipment of iPhones has been delayed

After a strict Covid lockdown n China, Apple has warned shoppers to expect delays in receiving its products as the world's largest iPhone factory is forced to shut.

According to Apple, the assembly plant of the company in Zhengzhou, China is now operating significantly at a reduced capacity. On 2nd November, the officials of China locked down the district that is home to the factory which is run by Foxconn. This lockdown came as the country continued to target "zero Covid" by using lockdowns to tackle every minor outbreak.

The announcement of a delay in receiving orders will disappoint investors who expected China would lift its Covid restrictions in the future. On Friday, the Chinese stock markets rose sharply on the back of rumors of an end to lockdowns.

The unyielding approach of Beijing to arrest the spread of the virus has to pay a huge economic cost. But the leader Xi Jinping has not indicated that it will ease the problem soon. The latest figures showed that the second-largest economy in the world is struggling to cope with prolonged challenges. And it was posed by persistent Covid restrictions, the risk of a global recession, and a property slump.
