Telangana government to introduce new policies for Electric vehicles

The State government of Telangana with an ambitious plan of making the State the electric vehicle (EV) capital and the energy storage systems manufacturing hub of India, is formally launching the new electric vehicle policy. The policy will be formally launched by IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao, along with Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, at the Telangana EV summit to be held on Friday at the MCRHRD institute.

The orders stated that rapid growth in urbanization and surge in the number of vehicles has led to an immediate need for a sustainable model for personal and public mobility in urban centres to address the rising pollution and mobility costs.
