M76 Analytics is an Analytics Driven Business Solutions company that focuses on Business and Data Consultancy. It was founded in IIT Bombay by Jai Mrug. The products created by M76 provide a framework for businesses that can be applied from statistical and machine learning to real life solutions and help in the decision making process.

In conversation with Jai Mrug, M76 Analytics Founder/CEO

Q. Could you explain, in brief, the journey you’ve had with M76 so far?

We started as a single person off-shore contracting firm. The company eventually discovered that the expectations of businesses from Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning needed a much wider

body of knowledge as well as software architecture that could make the data work for business decisions.

In April 2015, after a series of early data experiments with companies such as Usell.com, Localbanya.com and TimesNow, the company was founded in IIT Bombay. Starting from a modest team of Founder and 2 developers, the company started experimenting with an IT architecture for Scalable Data Decision Products.

In 2017, the company started its first Large Data Investigation Experiments at DSP BlackRock and TimesNow. The company has since progressed to own 8 trademarks in the areas of Data Analytics and Decision Science. MEGO (flagship product) is equipped with these trademarked Thought Tools and they constitute a complete Business strategy toolkit.

The company has developed a reputation for solving challenging numerical problems and bridging the gap between visualisation and business requirements. Today M76 Analytics is a product focused company with a team of 12 people.

Q. “Earning trust and respect of consumers all around the world is through consistent focus on delivering high quality in all of our actions,” how do you interpret this statement?

Conviction, perfection and speed are the keys to success. Quality is the face of our brand; we take utmost care of everything from our conversations with our clients to the user interfaces we provide them. However, quality without sympathy brings down the number of value delivery possibilities. The idea is to deliver the maximum value to the clients with utmost perfection. Quality provides brand loyalty but cannot earn the trust and respect of our clients. Our rigor for perfection, persistence to solve the problems, and simplicity in value delivery makes our clients come back to us for more and more solutions. Above everything, our projects are driven by the inspiration we derive from business leaders who run behind the vision of a better world. We think the products they use must meet the quality standards of the future they envision. Our endeavor is not just to fit into the future they envision, but to help them shape it and reimagine thinking.

Q. What kind of products and services do you offer to your clients?

We have one product; MEGO that is equipped with a whole library of business algorithms, optimizers and thought tools. All built in with one and only one purpose; to mimic the strategists’ actionable thought process and assist him in decision making.

Q. How do you manage to serve the needs of a highly volatile market?

By simplifying our offerings into dynamically reconfigurable cognitive softwares that can be trained with business contexts. They can solve any business problems, structured or unstructured within this business context. As far apart as each business vertical looks from the other, the underlying statistical principles don’t change. The trick is to channel information from data to meet decision maker’s intuition and answer all his questions in minimum time possible.

The Pioneer behind the Success of M76 Analytics; Mr. Jai Mrug, Founder and CEO

Jai Mrug brings over 20 years of experience to the M76 Analytics platform. Before starting M76 Analytics, Mr. Mrug was the Global Pre-Sales Head at Aegis IT, the IT arm of Essar Group. Mr. Mrug now is the retainer consultant to ‘Times Now’, India’s leading English news channel. He has also developed some of the early transport optimization algorithms for Indian Railways in his projects at IIT Bombay. A key algorithm, that is now commonly used by the Indian Railways for rake linking was worked on jointly by IIM Ahmedabad and the Operations Research practice at IIT Bombay. It constituted his major thesis during his graduation at IITB. His areas of expertise include numerical modeling, supply chain management, predictive analytics, business forecasting and decision support and electoral analytics.
