Moving involves a lot of careful planning and execution. Relocation stress is real, even if you are headed to your dream job, because moving is a daunting task.

The biggest and most important reason to hire international movers is to have peace of mind and make the moving experience pleasant and completely stress-free with well-trained professionals. Professional international movers have well-trained teams who handle your valuables with care and packed correctly to ensure safe transportation. The teams have the right equipment, packaging material needed for a smooth international move. Further experienced professionals will also be able to guide you about all the formalities that need to be completed prior to the moving.

Moovaz, established in 2017, is the only relocation firm in Singapore that incorporates smart technology to handle end-to-end relocation so that clients can focus on other important aspects that may need attention during the moving period.

Moovaz’s in-house developed technology takes care of processes that require having to correctly analyze and understand the requirements of the international move in order to offer efficient and customized solutions. On top of that, Moovaz provides a suite of professional international moving services, including storage solutions, handyman services, and cargo insurance which are also common in the relocation process.

Can you tell us about your company in brief?

Moovaz was built for the modern world, with a proven track record of making relocation seamless and fuss-free for clients globally. Our objective is to make relocation more affordable, faster, and more transparent. Our vision is to transform the way relocation is being done. Relocation isn't just be about moving furniture. It’s also about applying for government documents, finding a new house, setting up financial accounts, enrolling your children into schools, and knowing where your nearest supermarket is. From the onset, we are a global company (owing to the nature of international relocation) and we wanted to emphasize our promise to our customers that we will be responsible shippers, moving lives from A to Z (wherever that may be) in the best possible way. This explains the ‘AZ’ in our name.

What are your products and services?

Our main service is handling the entire international move journey for our clients: from pre-move, to packing, and finally to delivery day. We also empower our relocatees to manage their own moves with the help of an intuitive dashboard. This all-in-one relocation dashboard enables relocatees to obtain all the information they need about their moves, upload and download necessary documents, check their moves statuses and much more all in one place. This reduces the need for multiple correspondences back and forth with our move managers, thus saving everyone’s time. We also have a dedicated service called Moovaz Mini for small moves. Typically, relocation companies do not ship less than a certain volume and on the other hand, shipping couriers tend to overcharge when you exceed past a certain volume. Thus, with Moovaz Mini, we consolidate moves along key routes to enable shippers with small volumes to ship affordably.

What kind of responses have you received from your consumers over the years? How have they motivated you to shape your offerings/grow the company?

Thankfully, the majority of responses we have received have been positive. The feedback we receive on Facebook and Google by our satisfied customers serves as validation on the good work that we do. We’ve been complimented on our vision, our belief and determination to do things differently from how it has been traditionally done, all in the spirit of the consumer experience. However, certain negative responses do stand out, and they tend to focus on our pricing and how we may not be the cheapest in the market. Granted, we are more value-focused than we are price-focused. What challenges did you face in your initial years? What can your peers learn from it?

We think the most difficult challenge involves changing behaviors and mindsets. Something we face every day is the task to convince other players in the industry to adopt new technologies such as blockchain in the spirit of collectively improving the entire industry. Certain processes have been in place for an extremely long time and many would be reluctant or find it difficult to adapt to something new, although it would improve overall efficiency. Operating in a predominantly static landscape, the logistics and relocation industry is challenged by slow, expensive and opaque processes involving multiple intermediaries. Moovaz has a forward-looking vision to redefine the logistics of relocating professionals by building a one-stop online aggregator platform that fulfills all relocation needs. As a user, one simply needs to input basic information such as the origin and destination addresses, move date and volume of move. The system then aggregates a list of service providers based on the given criteria.

Fostering a culture of feedback is crucial to the success of every organization. How is this true with your company?

Feedback is vital to ensure a steady flow of fresh, new and innovative ideas. We strive to achieve this by regularly creating opportunities for social interaction because we believe it is only when everyone is comfortable that we are more in touch with our creative and innovative minds.

Junxian: Junxian, co-founder, serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Moovaz. He helps to spearhead the company’s strategy and growth and drive their mission in creating a life well moved for everyone. He believes that life’s a journey and that there is much to enjoy from our experiences, even in the toughest storms. It is in these moments that we learn how strong our anchors truly are and when the waves eventually subside, we can sail ahead with greater courage and resolve.

Junxian was also co-founder and CFO of CashShield, a global big-data analytics, enterprise risk management firm operating into the American, Chinese, European, and Southeast Asian markets.
