thesiliconreview-geir-sekkesaeter-ceo-osm-maritime-group-2018Shipping remains one of the most efficient and safe ways to transport large amounts of cargo all across the world. Whether it is agriculture produce, steel, minerals, cars, furniture or consumer goods, large cargo ships are the top choice for exporters as well as importers. Most subject matter experts concur that the global shipping industry is a major node in global trade and commercial network and generates billions of dollars in revenue. OSM is one of the world’s premier shipping companies, providing solutions in all forms to optimize and improve global shipping.

Market Winning Services

Crew management

OSM supplies certificated and experienced personnel for long or short-term requirements. They aim to provide a quick response, in light of the need to fill a vacancy promptly so that customers’ business is not adversely affected. OSM Crew Management serves a number of companies operating conventional vessels, as well as oil majors. The crew management operations exceed requirements in the TMSA guidelines and strive to provide high-quality personnel. The OSM Maritime Group was the first ship management and crew management company in the world to be certified according to the ILO Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) by DNV.

Ship Management

OSM Ship Management provides management services for a wide range of vessels. It is among the few managers capable of offering management services for, in addition to conventional tonnage, sophisticated offshore service vessels, such as subsea construction, PSVs, AHTS vessels, shuttle tankers with DP, and Double Acting Tanker (DAT) with Azipod propulsion. Management of oil tankers, ranging from 10.000 dwt to VLCCs, has for years been an OSM core sphere of competence, along with gas competence. Focus on oil major approvals and availability in the market in order to maximize earning potential for vessels are key elements.

The company’s management philosophy is to focus on asset protection. The experienced staff views ship management from an owner’s perspective, giving priority to safety, preventive maintenance, and flawless operation. The company also provides comprehensive services tailored to the needs of each vessel, ship owner, or charterer. Managing an array of cruise & passenger vessels within the OSM fleet, OSM offers a combination of nautical, technical, hotel & catering management services.

Offshore Management

OSM Offshore offers a multi-disciplined team of experienced professionals providing international client base with high-quality management and corporate solutions. The company understands the importance of expert planning for the successful delivery of projects; identifying and mitigating potential risk early creates an environment conducive to delivering the overall project to schedule and within budget. OSM’s independent technical advice, coupled with up to date knowledge of vessels and equipment, enables optimal assistance for clients with the management of risk, quality and project delivery.

Vessel Construction

OSM New Build Management has invested significant capital in this area of the business to ensure rapid delivery and customer satisfaction.
