Advanced Enzymes Technologies Ltd. was incorporated in 1989. However, the company’s journey began in 1957, when its founder Late L. C. Rathi pioneered the extraction of papain, an enzyme complex derived from papaya fruit and widely used for pharmaceutical and medical purposes. Advanced Enzymes went on to set up India’s first enzyme manufacturing plant in 1958. Since then, Advanced Enzymes have continued to grow with that same entrepreneurial and innovative spirit and are today, the largest producer of enzymes in central Asia!

Meet the Master
V. L. Rathi, President and Director: Rathi is armed with a degree in Food Science and Biotechnology, has more than 35 years of experience in the field of enzymes. He has had a brief stint in the Food Sciences industry before he was introduced to Enzymes very early in his career. Since then there has been no looking back and he has pioneered many developments in this field. Mr. Rathi has been resident in the US since 1973. As Advanced Enzyme Technologies Ltd. (the erstwhile Advanced Biochemicals Ltd) was being set up in India, he parallely setup Specialty Enzymes & Biochemicals Co in the US to lead the enzyme initiatives in the Western hemisphere.
Based out of California, he travels the globe for promoting the Enzyme cause. His interactions with people and technology across the world, allow him to bring a wholesome global perspective to Advanced Enzymes. It is only his wholesome discipline which has allowed Advanced Enzymes to come this far. A pioneer and a world leader in his own right, Mr. Rathi has never allowed success to get to him. He is well balanced & down-to-earth and feels blessed for his family and the people working with him. A philanthropist, he is involved with various NGOs like Sarathi and The Art of Living Foundation.
