XIAOMI watch: Looks Like an Apple Watch; Is Completely Different

Xiaomi has just launched its Smart Watch called the Mi watch. It’s the first smart watch to be sold under the Mi brand. With regards to appearance, it looks very similar to the Apple Watch Series 5 design. However, the Mi watch is not just another Apple Watch clone in the market. Considering the launch presentation Xiaomi presented in China, the Mi watch is more than just a pretty face.

With regards to the features of the watch, there are some inspirations drawn from the Apple Watch in design. Nevertheless, Xiaomi has chosen a flat frame which is different than the curved frame of the Apple Watch. The chassis of the Mi looks similar to the iPhone SE chassis. The frame has a microphone and speaker housed unlike the Apple Watch. In addition to that, the Mi watch has a crown and a features button for operation but it hasn’t been clarified what the button does. It could be a home button or a shortcut to the settings of the watch. The watch is customisable and customers can choose between regular silicon straps or go for stainless steel straps.

The Mi Watch offers a wide range of basic fitness functions. It doesn’t have as many features as an Apple Watch but it covers the basic fitness features. It tracks heart rate, steps, calories and oxygen sensor, sleep and exercise and body energy levels.

Xiaomi has come up with a customised user experience for its users. The watch comes with its own App Store that offers downloadable apps. Users can even create and use custom watch faces.

Xiaomi has worked hard on it to offer a different user experience than an Apple Watch. The company is confident in their product and will soon bring the Mi watch to the global market
